He started his journalism career in 1982 in local daily Görüş newspaper in Malatya. He continued his career in Cumhuriyet newspaper in Istanbul since 1983. He joined the correspondent staff of the newspaper Sabah in 1985. In 1989, he returned to Cumhuriyet newspaper. He also worked as a photojournalist for international news agencies in Turkey.

He witnessed the Gulf war in 1991 and the invasion of Iraq by US-led international forces in 2003. He was one of the first journalists that interviewed General Pervez Musharraf who confiscated the government in Pakistan.

In his professional life, he has witnessed numerous international agreements and natural disasters such as coups, wars, migrations and earthquakes from dozens of countries including Afghanistan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Armenia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Iran, Kosovo, Pakistan; he interviewed the prominent names of historical events.

He was rewarded by many professional organizations as a successful journalist and presenter of the year. He is also the owner of news websites sansursuz.com and malatyahaber.com.
